The Paul Family is a unique gospel singing family with deep roots in gospel music. Their first and foremost goal is to live for Christ and let others see Christ in the lives they live. Their mission is to share the good news with others so that they too may be blessed. The members include Brian and Debbie Paul, their daughter, Lauren, and twin sons, Josh & Jesse.
They have been nominated for numerous awards. In May 2011, they were awarded the SGM Fan Fair Award for 2011 Southern Gospel New Excelling Artist. To God Be all the Glory!
They are excited about their newest Lamp Music project, “In God’s Hands”. This project includes 14 songs; 13 new compositions, along with an instrumental hymn. The musical styles are mostly Southern Gospel. The three children have each contributed an original composition to this CD, each with a bluegrass flavor. Radio release, “The Good Outweighs the Bad”, is a favorite, along with “Leaving it in God’s Hands”, “Stand Still” and “No Reason to Fear”.
Our previous project, “On the Horizon”, featured the radio releases, “Jesus is the Reason”, Angels Have Been Sent”, and “See Ya Later”. This CD also included mostly all original material.
The group has performed all over the southeast in many churches, concerts, and area events. They have appeared in showcases during the past 3 years at the National Quartet Convention (NQC) held in Louisville, KY.
The Paul Family has made appearances on various television programs, including “Glory to God Television” and the new “John Lanier Show”. Josh & Jesse were given the honor of playing at the 2005 National Quartet Convention Jam Session with several other renowned gospel musicians..
The Pauls are active members of the Mount Holly Church in Bremen, GA where they have been attending since 1990. Brian and Debbie are both active members of the church music program there, when their schedules permit. They both traveled with Debbie’s family singing group, The Gambills, since their marriage in 1986. Before that, Brian was with other groups including The Southland Boys. Debbie sang with her family, The Gambills, since she was 5 years old. The Gambills traveled extensively for many years, as a full time group.
Brian plays many instruments, including the bass, lead, rhythm, dobro, and mandolin guitars; He sings the tenor part. He makes his writing debut on their latest project with the songs, “One Life” and “Because We are One”. He loves the Lord and witnesses in a unique way. His humorous and gentle nature makes him popular with all ages. He is thankful to the Lord for the blessing of being able to minister with his family.
Debbie has sung all of her life. She accepted the Lord at an early age. The Lord has blessed her with a wonderful talent for singing and songwriting. Her sincerity is clear as she puts her “all” into every song that she sings. She writes most of the group’s material and plays the keyboard. She has been writing gospel music for 25 years, with songs recorded by The Perrys, Gold City Qt,. The Gambills, as well as others.
Lauren Paul is Brian and Debbie’s daughter. She sings with mom and dad bringing youth to the group in its purest form. She has a very sweet, humble personality and wins the hearts of everyone. She graduated with honors from the Alpha Omega Academy and is currently attending Georgia Highlands College. She does very well in her studies. She is pursuing a career in teaching, specializing in History and Music. Lauren has been the recipient of the President’s Gold Award for Academic Excellence, signed by our former President Bush and is also a member of the National Honor Society. She sings and plays saxophone. She received 1st place awards at both the County and District levels, in the vocal performance category during 4-H competitions. We are proud that she chooses to use her talents for the Lord. Lauren has written songs on our last 2 CDs, “Jesus Is”, and “There’s Always Hope in the Lord”, which she sings with her brothers. She also co-wrote a song with her father on the group’s first project.
Josh & Jesse Paul are Brian and Debbie’s energetic twin boys. They are both very talented, singing and playing various instruments. They like all types of gospel music with a special fondness of the bluegrass style. Both assist with sound equipment and maintenance. They are very active in our church youth ministries. It’s not unusual to see them praying with people in the altar, during our concerts. They love the Lord themselves and are serious when it comes to prayer and leading others to the Lord.
Josh plays the mandolin and acoustic guitar. He’s the logical one or so he says. He is very talented and dedicated to the Lord. He does very well in school, is in 11th grade, and has also received the President’s Gold Award for Academic Excellence. Josh debuts his songwriting abilities on our new project, with his first original song, “There is No Reason to Fear”, which has a bluegrass flavor.
Jesse plays the dobro guitar, banjo, and harmonica and is the junior comedian of the family (with dad being senior comedian!). Jesse has aspirations of becoming a preacher when he’s older. He is also in the 11th grade and has also received the President’s Gold Award. He has written songs on our last 2 CDs, “Stand Still” and “God Has a Plan for Me”, which he sings with Josh and Lauren.
All three of the kids have received many awards. We are so very proud of all of them!!!! They do keep us busy. We would appreciate the opportunity to share our family and our music message with you and your church family. Our main goal is to see people saved and blessed. The Lord has truly blessed our family and we would like to share with you.
